Collaborative Conversations: Celebrating Twenty-One Years of The Mothertongue Project is a collection of scholarly and creative writing and images from across two decades of work by South African theatre arts collective, The Mothertongue Project. Since its inception in 2000 with What the Water Gave Me, The Mothertongue Project has used participatory, integrated arts methods to create theatrical works that strive for personal and collective dialogue and healing in South Africa. This launch marks the publication of Collaborative Conversations by Modjaji Books and brings the contributors together in a panel discussion to reflect on dialoguing and writing through the book-making process about the aspirations, achievements and alchemy of The Mothertonue Project.
