JIAS Music Encounters Series – Conversations with a Song – is proud to announce yet another seminar “SOUNDS FROM A CURATOR’S CHEST: Unlocking the Treasure of Sibongile Khumalo’s Multi-Layered Discography and Repertoire Making”, presented by Musa Mhlongo, an award-winning composer, musical director, cultural heritage researcher, public speaker and author of Goodbye From Our Worlds.

Bio: A graduate of the University of Zululand as well as Wits University, in Musicology and African Literature, Mhlongo’s research interests are on the value of cultural heritage in societal development and literary representations of socio-cultural dualities in contemporary South Africa. Musa’s recent well-acclaimed compositional work is the score of a film ‘Valley of A Thousand Hills’ currently on Netflix.
