  • Disorganized forgetting: the politics of memory in post-TRC Canada and South Africa

    This talk focuses on the memorials located along the Khumalo street corridor in Ekurhuleni, South Africa and the Mohawk Institute in Brantfort, Canada. Focusing on these local memorial sites helps us understand the contested and negotiated ways in which apartheid and colonialism are remembered/forgotten, and also enable us to understand the variety of articulations of the settler colonial present.
