Dr. Tshepo Mvulane Moloi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Johannesburg Institute of Advanced Study (JIAS), at University of Johannesburg (UJ). As a Social Scientist he serves as an analyst, predominantly on Socio-Political affairs, in miscellaneous media platforms, across South Africa. He holds a doctorate (DLitt et Phil.) in Political Science (2019) from UJ, Master of Arts (MA) degree in Systematic Philosophy (2013), Bachelor of Administration Honours degree, majoring in Political Science (2007), and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Heritage Studies (2006) – all from the University of Zululand (UZ). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Sport Management (2000), from the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU). Amongst his former employment positions, include being an ‘Academic Literacies Facilitator’, at the ‘Academic Development Centre’ at UJ (2020) and ‘Project Manager’, at Stellenbosch Community Service Centre (2009). His a ‘Sir Abe Bailey Fellow’ and a ‘Golden Key Society’ Member.

Dr Sifiso Ndlovu is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS)-University of Johannesburg. Her PhD project-obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand- broadly examined intersections and divergences in the articulations of belonging to ethnic identity and nation-building in post-apartheid South Africa in the culturally heterogeneous KwaMhlanga region. She also holds MA in Political Studies, an Honours degree in Political Studies and a BA in Political Studies and Sociology, all from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her research interests include the state in Africa, African politics, public policy, democratization, social justice and the politics of nation-building, ethnic identities, and belonging and citizenship. She is a budding academic who has received academic awards and scholarships, including the Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa doctoral fellowship, University of the Witwatersrand’s Council Postgraduate Merit Scholarship, National Research Foundation bursary, and University of the Witwatersrand’s Postgraduate Merit Award Doctoral Scholarship.
